The correct temperature is crucial for reptiles. Many reptiles originate from areas with different living conditions than ours, often warmer climates. Reptiles are ectothermic, meaning they cannot regulate their own body temperature; therefore, supplemental heating in the terrarium is essential for almost all reptiles. With these Trixie lamps, you can easily create a so-called 'hotspot': this is the warmest spot in the terrarium where your animal will enjoy basking. This lamp provides heat through a combination of infrared and UVA radiation. Infrared radiation supports thermoregulation and digestion, while UVA stimulates natural behavior and appetite. This combination ensures a correct ambient temperature in the terrarium. The lamp emits daylight in a yellowish-white hue and is dimmable.
